WRITING PROGRAMS

At the Bronx Academy of Letters, writing is not just academic. Every week, a different visiting writer greets the school and leads a discussion in the Writers’ Forum. Between the school’s newspaper (The Raven) and literary magazine (One Pen), students both receive reporting assignments and have the chance to write about anything they wish, from poetry to hard journalism, and see their words both in print and online. And a writer in residence is on hand to lead workshops and serve as an overall writing adviser.
