Students at the Bronx Academy of Letters are held to the highest academic and behavioral standards. Our school does its part by implementing a seven-year student advisory, an extended-day program, opportunities through community partners, a mentorship program, and a college-preparation program that is central to the school’s mission. Advisory sessions act as a conduit for other youth-development strategies, providing time for advisors to introduce students to extracurricular opportunities both inside and outside the school and to provide academic support across the curriculum. The school has an active student government, a number of different clubs (drama, art, choir, magazine, newspaper, dance, chess, film), and various athletic teams (basketball, baseball, track). Students also receive assistance from the staff if they wish to start their own extracurricular groups. |
