Enrichment Programs

The Enrichment department provides a range of support services to Bronx Academy of Letters students, their families, and school faculty. Students will have an opportunity to match their various interests with several after school and summer enrichment opportunities throughout their years at Bronx Letters. To ensure that every student is meaningfully engaged during his or her out-of-school time, both during the school year and in the summer, the Enrichment department strategically recruits applicants for various opportunities. These areas include community service and volunteering, career development, travel abroad, internships, and college readiness. From summer jobs with Summer Youth Employment (SYEP), to travel abroad opportunities like the YMCA Global Teens program, the opportunities are endless.

Overnight Trips & Field Trips

All students in grades 8-11 go on overnight trips during the spring semester. While BAL covers most of the expenses for these trips, each family is expected to contribute. The focus of the 8th grade trip is wilderness exploration, wile grades 9-11 visit colleges throughout New England. Our Enrichment department also organizes three whole-school field trips throughout the year. These field trips focus on college, career, and community service. Most of the organizations and colleges we visit are long-standing partners of BAL. It is such a great opportunity for you, as students, to represent our school and also possibly get a summer internship, part-time job, or meet Reggie Bush (just ask Shakira C.) Wyclef Jean (ask Anthony V.) or Michele Obama (ask Shanice H.)
