ORGANIZATIONS

We are currently working with several community arts organizations that will help us come up with new, creative ways to infuse writing into both our curriculum and our after-school programs. Some groups Bronx Letters has worked with include:

The Point. The Hunts Point-based community-development corporation offers a remarkable variety of creative and academic opportunities to area youth. The Point's facility houses a black-box theater, a publications lab, painting studios, a functioning radio station, gallery space, a band room, a marketplace for entrepreneurs, a lounge, and a spacious atrium where students receive after-school tutoring.

Columbia Artists/Teachers. With noted writer and city-school educator Alan Ziegler at the helm, the Columbia University Graduate Writing Division has developed the Columbia Artists/Teachers program. CA/T volunteers, all of them students of writing, visit Bronx Letters weekly to help with school publications.
